  Description: This session will explore how small, intentional acts of kindness influenced nurse morale, resilience, and overall well-being. Using data from a quality improvement (QI) project conducted at Lee Health, a secular, not‑for‑profit, multi‑hospital system in Southwest Florida, the presenters will share how the system, in collaboration with their Faith Community Nursing (FCN) program implemented a unique wellness initiative. The initiative included the REST (Resilience, Empathy, Support Team) Tea Cart, which was designed to support the spiritual and emotional needs of their staff and has application for faith community nursing practice.

  Bios: Barbara Kilbride serves as Manager for the Lee Health Faith Community Nurse Program in the Spiritual Services Department of Lee Health in Southwest Florida. She earned a Masters in Health Science from Florida Gulf Coast University and a certification in Advanced Ministerial Leadership. She has over 45 years of nursing experience, and 10 years practicing as a Faith Community Nurse and Educator. She enjoys fostering professional growth and spiritual development with 30 volunteer nurse and health ministry associates in the Lee Health program. Her ministry focus supports women learning to live by God’s Word.  

  Dr. Liseki is seasoned nursing professional with over four decades of experience in clinical practice, education, and professional development. She earned a BSN from Olivet Nazarene University, a Master of Science in nursing education, and a Doctor of Education in adult education from Argosy University, Chicago. She served 16 years as tenured nurse faculty at Joliet Junior College. Currently, Danielle serves as a nursing professional development specialist at Lee Health by advancing practice and professional growth among nurses, as a Faith Community Nurse in the Fort Myers community, and she also teaches a graduate level research course at Olivet Nazarene University.  

  Learning outcomes:

• 1.     Describe how small, intentional acts of kindness positively influenced morale and contributed to a healing work environment
• 2.     Identify 2 practical strategies for integrating kindness-based wellness interventions to support staff well-being.
